It’s Just Down the Hall and to the Left

Aluminum wire

2020

This piece is created with a technique I call “wire felting”. The aluminum wire is unrolled from its spool, then mangled and tangled by hand until it becomes a mass of chaotic wire. I then re-form this tangle into a work that has external order in terms of a distinct form, but made up of a chaotic interior.

Constructed in three elements, the piece has a myriad of arrangements and variable dimensions according to those arrangements. It is suitable for outdoor installation as well as within a gallery and can be wall mounted or directly displayed on floor.

The work was shown in an outdoor exhibiton at Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2020.
